How to read a Visa Ray assessment (and what 'fit score' actually means)
Every pathway in your assessment gets a fit label — Strong potential, Potentially relevant, or Needs more information — plus a score out of 100. It's worth being clear about what that score is and isn't.
What the score reflects
It's a transparent, rules-based tally: your profile earns points for meeting specific criteria in our data (education, work experience, language test, a qualifying job offer, and so on), and loses nothing for gaps — a gap just means the point isn't added yet. We deliberately don't call this a "chance of approval" — no third-party tool honestly can, and treating it that way is a trap we specifically avoid.
What the gap list is for
The "Still needed" section under each pathway tells you exactly what to go get — a language test, a skills assessment, proof of funds — rather than leaving you to guess why a pathway scored lower than another.
