- UK: tuition from about GBP 30,800 (arts, law, economics) to GBP 46,900 (computer science, engineering) and GBP 70,600 (medicine) at Cambridge for 2027 entry, plus college fees. Degrees are shorter, with three-year bachelor's and one-year master's courses.

- Australia: roughly AUD 32,000 to 52,000 a year for most undergraduate courses at leading universities, plus a higher visa fee than before.
- Singapore: about SGD 33,000 to 44,000 a year at NUS for most non-medical courses without the tuition grant, with a work bond if you take the grant.

Who each destination suits best
- USA: applicants aiming at the most selective universities, STEM students who want extended work training, and students who can win scholarships or assistantships.
- UK: students who want a shorter degree and a globally recognised name, especially for one-year master's degrees.
- Canada: students who value work placements and a long-term plan to settle, but who can handle recent policy tightening.
- Australia: students interested in a warm climate, multiple intakes and practical courses, who can meet the Genuine Student standard.
- Germany: students looking for low or no tuition in engineering and sciences, willing to learn German and plan for the blocked account.
- Singapore: students who want a high-ranking English-taught university in Asia and can accept the grant bond or pay full fees.
How to decide
- Set a total budget for tuition and living costs for the whole degree.
- Check the visa rules and funds before you apply, since caps and levies change.
- Look at the programme, not just the university's overall rank.
- Think about the post-study route: the work permit or visa you will need after graduating.
- Apply to a mix of ambitious and realistic choices.
